Teresa Villegas' Profile

About

Like every artist here on Etsy, I love to make things.

Usually I make paintings. But lately, I’ve been printing. And I have been printing a lot, and loving it more than I remember at University years and years ago. About

Like every artist here on Etsy, I love to make things.

Usually I make paintings. But lately, I’ve been printing. And I have been printing a lot, and loving it more than I remember at University years and years ago. Probably because I don’t want to call myself a “Printmaker” . A printmaker is fastidious, precise, clean, and makes sure that any edition is met with as much consistent perfection as possible throughout. All admirable qualities and skills which I do not possess. And that’s why, when I need an edition made, I work with a Master Printer to do the job (Brent Bond, of Santo Press, to be specific). Such as the “El Mundo al Reves” edition, published by Santo Press, signified by his very cool chop mark on each print.

Other prints I've been making (such as the 'Emotional Heart" prints), are all hand pulled, by me in my studio, then manipulated individually by adding more ink marks, bringing each print to a finished piece, making each print unique.

I’m inspired by science, the natural world, the human body, literature, language, mythology, life.

Every day I'm reminded to do what I love and love what I do. And, that's why I'm here.

I live and work in Phoenix, Az
