I am a former professional ballet dancer who is now a stay at home, homeschooling Mama. My interest in natural toys came after the birth of my first child. I decided that plastic toys were not for me and I sought out natural fibers and wood toys and play things. Later a good friend taught me to needle felt and I was hooked immediately.
The little things in my shop come about quite by their own accord. I let the wool take its own shape and from it comes the little gnomes and things you see. Each doll and toy is crafted by repeatedly poking (over thousand of times for each piece) a barbed needle into wool roving. This causes the wool to twist together to form the strong felt fabric.
I take inspiration from the natural world around me as well as the stories I tell my children. I hope that my creations inspire you and your children…
