My mom, mom-mom and great grandmom taught me how to sew (knit and crochet too, but that got me nowhere because I am awful at both) when I was a little kid, and I've been addicted ever since. I learned on an old iron Singer - the kind in a cabinet, where you had to use your knee and the wheel. Throwback! While I was in 10th grade, I almost failed an Intro to Sewing class because I made my own patterns for a project, instead of going out to buy one like we were told (whatever). It was then that I decided to start designing my own clothing, bags and scrunchies (don't judge) because I felt boxed in with whatever was in the store or available in a pattern book. Probably also because I wanted to do everything my way (who doesn't?).
