About

My Name is Alison, I make each item by hand, with a high level of detail, in my home one item at a time. I take joy making Pinterest Pins become a reality for others. My favorite craft is by far Crochet, and I also like to dabble in decoupage, scrapbook journal making and embroidery.
♥ My Mission ♥
To make refreshing, up-to-date, hand made items, sure to bring a smile to your face :) ♥
Each and every item is made by me personally, by hand ♥ I used a sewing machine for the first time in 1st grade as a brownie to make a mini skirt, and fell in love ♥ with crafting and creativity ever since. I started crocheting when I was just 15 years old... not going to say how many years that has been but I did the math and it's a lot. :) ♥
♥ Thank-you for taking the time to visit my shop ♥

Why I opened my shop... My daughter was diagnosed just this last May with Type 1 Diabetes, so I opened the shop while staying with her to help her adjust to life as a diabetic...

In May 2012 near Freshman finals she started skipping classes to go to the Nurses office which the school took as her just trying to get out of English and Math, not realising those were just after her Breakfast and Lunch so she really was sick and not faking... So after a couple repeated trips to the nurse at school, we took her again to the dr and they diagnosed her with the flu, compounded with secondary infections... Gave us 5 different medications and told us to give her fluids she could easily keep down like apple juice and sprite.

Next thing you know, we were rushing her to the ER because she became extremely lethargic, thinking we overdosed her on Tylenol since the hubby and I had both given her a dose not realizing the other had also... Her blood sugar was 1295, and she was in a coma for a week in PICU, and hospitalized another week before we could bring her home to a new life full of insulin, home nurse visits, and trips to the Endocrinologist and other specialists for elevated liver enzymes...

We have had to additional hospitalizations since then for Hypoglycemia, the first one required a week in the ER, and the second was not as severe so we only spent a day in the ER and another day hospitalized. We are hoping to get her a continuous glucose monitor soon as it checks her blood sugars every 2-5 minutes, graphs it for us, and also has alarms should her blood sugars go too high or too low. It is not 100% covered by insurance, but she is 100% worth it.

We are also fundraising to send her to camp Herkto Hollow this summer where she will get used to her CGI, learn how to program it and become more comfortable with the devise. She will also be around other teens with diabetes her own age, and I am hoping that will encourage her to try an insulin pump next. If you would like to donate to help send her to camp, we are accepting donations to help send her. All donations are 100% tax deductible as it is an official 501c charity according to US laws.
