About

Udacha is a Ukrainian word meaning “good fortune”. My Ukrainian grandmother, my Babci, always says “lots of luck to you” whenever you tell her about your latest endeavor, and I think it is working. I feel blessed in life, love, and friendship, and I want to share that with you.

The inspiration for Udacha came to me at an art festival, where you cannot help but catch creative fire being alongside so many amazing artisans. My husband is a travel photographer, and I have been working many festivals with him over the past eight years. My urban holsters are the solution to working and living in skirts and dresses without pockets. Everything is handmade by me in my sunny library at my home in the Brookland neighborhood of Washington, DC. I create using recycled leather, suede, and vintage materials on my new-to-me Juki industrial sewing machine.
My love and passion is for making high quality, durable goods that are also nice to look at. I make original patterns and designs and have a lot of fun daily.

Udacha wants to provide you with quality, found, recycled, and innovative pieces to add style to your functional needs.

And maybe kind of make you feel like a cowgirl.
