I guess you can call me an altruistic collector. What started out at as a hobby has opened a whole new world of learning about the history of fashions and styles, each new piece urging me on to explore how it came to be and the culture surrounding the era from which it originates. I am absolutely obsessed with finding unique jewelry and home décor items, but my greatest pleasure comes from sharing my findings with the world. I want you, my customers to share my excitement of holding a piece of jewelry once someone’s family heirloom now just waiting to be the start of a new tradition with another family, or a beautiful home décor item that looks just as marvelous in the 21st century home as it did a couple of centuries ago.

About

I love the geometry of the Art Deco period, the feminism of the Art Nouveau years, the boldness and experimentation of the Mid Century movement. I enjoy the soul and warmth of everything handmade, especially artisan silver jewelry and studio-made wheel -thrown pottery. I am a devoted student of Asian Arts, their forms and philosophical meaning of design elements.

A special place in my heart belongs to vintage costume jewelry, since this category was the quickest to adapt to trend changes in fashion and society as a whole. Egyptian jewelry of the Art Deco period, stunning designs of Alfred Philippe, Marcel Boucher, Hattie Carnegie, Miriam Haskell, Juliana jewelry, bold statement pieces of Kenneth Jay Lane, couture bijoux jewelry produced by Chanel and Christian Dior are just a few names that are my all-time favorites.

My love of vintage pieces helps me to escape the boredom of today’s mass produced culture, preserve the history and express myself and my surroundings in unique and one-of-a-kind way. I hope you share my interests and passions. Let’s dare to be unique!
