About

I've dabbbled in a little bit of everything although I prefer to knit, crochet, make polymer clay beads, and most recently spin yarn and make pieces with viking knit.

I discovered my love of polymer clay and wire jewelry making in 2009 while studying interior design at Converse College. I always have to be doing something with my hands, whether it's cross stitch or crochet, or making viking knit chain or sculpted rose pendants. Turn on something good on Netflix or Pandora and I'm a happy girl.

Early on I just made jewelry - always pieces I'd wear myself. Those early jewelry pieces evolved into pieces I love wearing, and love offering to my clients. I firmly believe that if you are passionate about what you create, that will come through in the final result.

My style has evolved along with my product offerings. I now make unique polymer clay buttons for sewing and fiber arts (love handcrafted buttons on knit goods), shawl pins inspired by my love for gorgeous lace shawls, polymer clay filigree covered glass ornaments for holiday decor, and, soon, lovely little dishes for rings or other small objects. As of March 2016, my shawl pins, buttons, and other not-jewelry is moving to my new shop, etsy.com/shop/valenstardesigns
