Valerie Mann 's Profile

About

I'm trained as a painter(BFA, U of Ill) and sculptor(MFA, Mich. St. U). I have been working and exhibiting professionally for 24 years and I have work in collections around the world, but mostly in the states - for example in the Ann Arbor Google offices anSt. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor. Nature is a major inspiration for me, stuff I see on hikes makes a big impression on me. I use mostly re-purposed materials in my moxed media pieces and constantly challenge myself to think in different ways, look from different angles. My watercolors are mostly Daniel Smith colors on archival watercolor paper...sometimes Fabriano, sometimes Arches or Kilimanjaro.
