About

Ive been crafting and making things since I was very young, and love making new things. I ejnoy sharing the items I make with people. My most favorite craft items to do is using stuff I can recycle. So, most of my items have something in them that I've saved from the trash. I feel as though I am helping my little corner of Earth stay green and clean! Friends know they can come to me and get help putting something together, like this elderly neighbor man of mine needed a couple of shelves one time, so I found two cardboard boxes the size he needed and made the shelves using extra cardboard for reinforcments. I then used my acrylic paint and finished them. The next day when they were dry, I gave him his shelves. He loved them, and to this day tells family and friends about them and me. Favorite materials

Chain mail, beads, wire, things from nature, anything I can design something crafty with, especially if I can recycle another item that would normally be thrown out in the trash

This was just over ten years ago, and he still has those shelves! I use to thumb through the wish books we'd get in the mail. I decided to try making some of the things I wanted but couldn't afford. It's always been fun and now, using those ideas, I still make gift items for birthdays and such for friends and family. This stems from one of the things my Grandma use to tell me, that I still remember today. "If you want something, save your money and just make it!" I've been doing that ever since! Thank you Grandma!
I love the old saying; "One man's trash is another man's treasure." With that, I have to say, I believe it to be so, especially for me. I'm not a hoarder, but I don't like to throw stuff away. So I just file it away in my storage boxes with like items and use it in future projects. Over the years I've learned to reuse, recycle and improvise. I love making items I, or someone else can use, out of nothing. I also love to see peoples expressions when they find out their gift is made by recycling. It makes my heart happy to see them smile.
I love yard sales, flee markets, thrifts stores and dumpster diving. I always find the neatest treasures!
