Stationary stores and letterpress shops inspire and comfort me, but having spent the last few years helping friends search for paper goods for their weddings I found my favorite styles to be the most expensive and thus implausible for weddings on a budget. So I started creating paper goods for my friends' needs and thought there might be a bigger audience for my aesthetic. A classy casual aesthetic isn't always readily available, and the goal of Paper Cuttlefish is to fill that void.
After first learning what amigurumi were I knew I had to learn how to make them. I had never crocheted before so I plopped down in front of YouTube with some yarn and freshly purchased crochet hooks and studied.
