Jenny Knight's Profile

About

Here's my theory: Life is complicated enough. Your jewelry should be easy.

If you're a practical person as I am, simplification is the key. But being practical doesn't mean you have to forgo fashion. You don't have to LOOK practical to be practical.

My jewelry is for the practical woman who knows how to embrace her inner goddess, whether you prefer contemporary styles with gemstones and precious metals, delicate lace with a vintage flair, or repurposed vintage classics with attitude. If you want your jewelry to be effortless but gorgeous, simple yet versatile, chic yet classic, fashionable yet timeless, then my shop is right up your alley.

About Me:

I began working on jewelry mostly by accident: I developed an interest in vintage and antique buttons. The detail and workmanship that went into these tiny little items was exquisite, and people wore them much as we wear jewelry today. I decided that they would make nice little pendants. Then the bead addiction followed, and there was no turning back. These days I'm inspired by gemstones and contemporary trends, but my first love will always be vintage style, bohemian chic and Victorian elegance.

My glass work and ceramic pieces have always been inspired by the idea that all art should be beautiful but also be functional. That's why I enjoy making jewelry--it is the ultimate blend of beauty and purpose.

I think I make jewelry the same way that I wear it--I like things that are versatile and simple. I tend toward jewelry with an eye towards the one or two pieces that will always work, both in the office and at home. Kind of like your favourite radio station.

These are a few of my favourite things:

JEWELRY: Vintage & Contemporary styles. Modern Vintage, Bohemian chic, Victorian and Czech, filigree (especially Edwardian style), chunky bracelets, vintage buttons, lace, art glass stones. Gemstones and pearls, sterling and fine silver (Bali & Hilltribe), handmade glass and Venetian beads, rosary (Y drop) necklaces, dangles and drops.

GLASS:
Stained Glass: Star ornaments, boxes, pendants, mosaics.

Painted Glass: Functional glassware painted with a special acrylic-enamel mix that renders them washable and drink/food-safe. My absolutely biggest sellers at art shows.

CERAMICS: Cat plaques - handbuilt ceramic three-dimensional plaques depicting my favourite species, created using cannolli molds, cotton lace, tea strainers, broken tiles, dried leaves, etc. They're really cool.

FINE ART: Acrylic and oil paintings, pen-and-ink drawings, watercolor cards.

If you would like me to make you something, let me know. :)

Cheers
