About

About Me:

I've been interested in art ever since I was a child. My parents love art and they took my sister and me to galleries, museums and travelling to see some of the world's great cities. My dad is a particularly talented visual artist - from creating an amazing mural for the room I shared with my sister when we were children to being a natural at arts and crafts time with my sister's children. Whatever talent I have comes from my parents.

Since I was a child, I have been interested in all sorts of creative pursuits – from visual art to writing. Over the years, I have done lots of thing from writing poetry and songs (ahh… those teenage years), to working with textiles (cross-stich, embroidery, knitting, hand weaving), to ceramics (I still have vases and bowls that I’ve made that I use at home), and photography. And even writing a fiction…

And even writing a fiction book a few years ago. But ultimately all those pursuits have led me to art as my main love and passion.

Over the years, I have worked with various mediums - from coloured pencils and watercolours to pastels, oil and acrylic and even ceramics. I've always made art but a few years ago I was very active with exhibiting my work in the USA. I've exhibited my work in galleries and other venues, and I was a grant recipient from the Washington DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities to help support my work.

But then I decided that I wanted a big life adventure and moved countries (to the UK - London). And then, most unexpectedly, I met someone, fell in love and got married (a life changing experience). During this time, I never stopped creating, but just took a break from sharing my work while I got settled in life in the UK. In the meantime, I did lots of research (books, courses), about starting my own business – something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time.

And finally, all the pieces came together this year when I decided that 2014 is the year to go for it and take the plunge. I started my company Vera Vera On The Wall Limited in early 2014 and have been actively building my business since then.

My aim is to share my work with a wide audience (on and off-line) and to use my apply my original artwork to a variety of home accessories. Essentially, I want to add that creative artistic touch to the home going from a focus to pure art that decorates walls into using that art as inspiration to create beautiful home products and personal accessories to decorate every aspect of your life. Watch this space.

Feel free to drop me a line with feedback, comments - good and bad. I'd love to hear from you.

Many thanks!

About Vera Vera On The Wall:

The Vera Vera On The Wall brand is colourful, contemporary and elegant with a traditional and sometimes vintage twist. The Company’s roots are fine art and a focus on the quality and longevity of the work, but the vision is to make art much more accessible allowing people greater freedom and customization to design their homes and surroundings as they wish. My ethos behind my work is to provide maximum flexibility and choice to the customer as to how to decorate their world – from my signing my abstract artwork on the back (so that it can be displayed vertically or horizontally) to my working in series and with various colours allowing for maximum level of colour matching to a particular colour scheme. My company celebrates creativity in all its forms and seeks to beautify people's surroundings.

Vera Vera On The Wall is a small company with big dreams that wants to celebrate colour and striking designs in all their forms. The starting point for Vera Vera On The Wall is selling my original artwork and limited edition fine art prints as well as the original handmade stencils on vintage music paper. However, my vision is to expand my product range to other products for the home, such as kitchenware (particularly ceramics, tableware, kitchen accessories such as tea towels, etc.) and other homeware accessories (such as pillow cushions and other home textiles). Through these additional product lines, Vera Vera On The Wall would inject some creativity, colour and fun to the home.

Vera Vera On The Wall Limited is a company registered in England and Wales with company number 8937329. The company's registered address is 71-75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ, England.
