About

Creating is part of my DNA. Two of the biggest influences in my life created. My grandmother was a very talented artist whose oils decorate my home and inspire me daily. My mother is an expert seamstress. She made her own wedding dress and made her children and herself countless Halloween costumes.
Following in their footsteps, I have always enjoyed crafts. It began with cross stitch as a child. I also used to make wreaths and floral arrangements. I ran a craft department at a major retailer. I could spend hours in a craft store and not get bored.
I started beading about 4 years ago after wrist surgery. Many would believe it was to strengthen my wrist after the operation, but it was really do to my former employer making me self-conscious about the inch long scar left behind. Knowing that I could not find a bracelet that would not fit my small wrists, I decided to do what any crafter would do when she cannot find a product she wants – I made one. After that first bracelet, I was hooked.
Beadwork combined the use of color my grandmother skillfully brushed onto canvases with the way my mother uses a needle and thread to artfully create clothing and costumes. Working with beads has allowed me to create pieces that are attractive, appropriate for everyday wear, and unique. I pride myself in my work and enjoy the process of weaving color and shape into wearable works of art.
Many of my pieces have a vintage flair. I enjoy using vintage focal beads. The majority of my work is a modern update on treasures you could find in your great-grandmother’s jewelry box.
My favorite materials include vintage focal beads, seed beads, Czech fire-polished glass beads, and silver chain.
