About

I arrived into this world on a sunday evening, the first born child to a couple who had grown up on opposite sides of the world but met and married in London, UK.

I grew up in an Italian/Indian household in England. Both my parents were creative people. My mother was and still is passionate about gardening, handicrafts, cooking and art. My fathers creativity was channelled into creating food using bizarre ingredient combos, which were often viewed with great suspcion by my brother and I, as my father had and still has an unhealthy love affair with super hot chillies.

My creative tendancies emerged early on in life and at the tender age of 7 years old, I won my first art competition with a drawing of The Queen standing outside her home in the garden. My 7yr old vision of this home was a small 2 up and 2 down cottage with 4 windows and a…

My 7yr old vision of this home was a small 2 up and 2 down cottage with 4 windows and a door in the middle. The cottage garden ws full of bright daisy like flowers and picket fence! She was smiling, wearing a blue dress, oh and of course her big gold crown!

Throughout school I continued to make little creations and developed my fertile imagination, though I found the restrictions of school sometimes hard! I cycled a lot, climbed trees and was forever finding 'treasure' and bringing it home, though the 12 jars of furry caterpillars were quickly emptied into the back garden by my mother! Though i no longer bring home living creatures, i still collect pebbles, leaves, seed pods and oddities found on the beach.

After leaving school, I put myself through art school and then university where I studied Ceramics. I was lucky to study under renowned British Ceramicists, Walter Keeler, Mo Jupp and Nick Homoky. After graduating I began my working career in the arts as a maker and an arts development professional. This eventually brought me to Scotland where I lived and worked for over 10 years.

My work is an eclectic mix of mediums from paper, mixed media, fibre art and textiles to wire and beads, painting and of course my first love - Ceramics.
