Welcome to Artplay!
Artplay came about from watching my kids over the years play without a care in the world. Wanting that feeling you have as a child again (the feeling that everything you do should be fun and carefree. They can turn a box into days of fun with just a little imagination). I am 37 years old, a wife and mother to two amazing children. My son Devin is 12 years old and my daughter Kayla is 4. They inspired me to begin ARTPLAY and I hope one day through my success I will inspire them to follow their dreams. To do what they love and to love what they do so they can truly succeed and be happy in life.
My story began in Brooklyn, New York (where I am originally from), as a child I considered myself a creative person….
I had big dreams of going to the School of Performing Arts (the “Fame” school) and becoming a professional dancer. Well life took many turns and after working several “grown up” jobs to pay the bills (that always left me stressed and uninspired) I knew I wanted to bring that young creative person inside of me alive again. So as of January 28, 2011 I quit my job as the Director of Operations for an International Recruiting company to be a stay at home mom and find myself.
This is when my artistic journey really began. I started painting with my then 3 year old daughter just to keep her busy. Well as she put her paint brush down to move on to the next activity I found I couldn’t and didn’t want to put mine down. And ever since I’ve been painting. I find something in painting that I haven't found anywhere else. I have painted for myself for the past year and now I’m ready to share my passion with the world. Hopefully I can inspire you and bring your inner child out through my playful, whimsical paintings and graphic like word play.
