Like many Etsy creative types, I am one of those people who have always had to be making something. (As a preschooler, I got Scotch tape in my stocking from Santa). I graduated university with a B.A. in Applied Art/major in Craft Design. For my first job, I went to Japan to teach English as a Second Language, and fell in love with the people, culture and art. I returned some years later to teach there again, and at that time began collecting the kimono and other traditional fabrics I use in my work.
Some of my work is sold in the gift shops at the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum, Mason City, IA, Charles City Arts Center, Charles City, IA, and Clear Lake Arts Center, Clear Lake, IA.
If you have any special requests, please drop me a conversation and let me know--I love making special orders.
Visit my other Etsy shop, thebadant, for my non-Japanese inspired things and destash.
