About

Hello, I'm Sarah. I enjoy many types of crafts. Here are the ones you might find in my shop:

Sewing: I've been sewing since about 2002. I used my mom's machine to make arm warmers out of the sleeves of shirts that didn't fit me anymore and purses out of old jeans. A couple years later I got my own sewing machine for Christmas. I continued sewing and learned by trial and error. I made all kinds of clothes, purses and blankets. I used to tailor my school uniforms and soon friends and acquaintances had me altering their uniforms too. I continued sewing as a hobby throughout high school and during college I discovered Etsy. Being able to share my creations online gave me a reason to keep sewing. My favorite things to make are dresses and skirts.

A lot of time the things I make don't make it into my shop because I keep them for myself haha. I hope to continue to improve my craft and make more things for Etsy.

Embroidery: I've been into embroidery since the summer of 2005. I was given my Mamaw's embroidery box filled with vibrant threads and iron-on patterns from the 60s and 70s. I spent the summer stitching psychedelic designs onto my things. Throughout my school years I'd design and cut out my own stencils and embroider things onto my backpacks and hoodies. I recently discovered that canvas shoes, Toms in particular, are a great medium for embroidery. Also, I am in the process of creating a line of pendants with my embroidery designs.

Crochet: I learned to crochet in the winter of 2011. My mom taught me the chain and single crochet. I made a few things and got bored with that one basic stitch so I took a class at a local craft boutique and learned a few basic foundation stitches. I took my newly acquired knowledge and started learning a bunch of fun stitches by watching tutorial videos on YouTube. Crochet is really addicting and I love that it can be done anywhere. I am excited to learn more stitches, make more stuff and start offering more crochet accessories in my shop.
