About

I grew up in Chicago but have been living in the Portland Oregon area for several years. My interest in art started when my dad would take me to the shipyards in Calumet Park where he worked as a ship builder until he earned his degree. I was interested in the boats and the reflections on the water. At the time I didn't really know too much about watercolor other than the little trays of it that we used in school and really didn't produce much color. When I got older I started taking watercolor classes and workshops and fell in love with the medium. I realized I could create bright colorful compositions using watercolor and I was thrilled. I've been doing it ever since and it is still my favorite painting media. I'll always love the independent character of watercolors and the amazing results.
