What's Up Dox Dachshund Shoppe's Profile

About

What's Up Dox was initially started as a means to raise money for Dachshund Rescue. After fostering and adopting seven dachshund: Oscar, Charlie, Jacob, Heidi Lou Who, Vinnie, Louie and Donovan (the models you see throughout my shop) I decided to focus my attention on fundraising.

I started out with a design for a Wiener Mom t-shirt. To my surprise demand soon exceeded supply. So I designed a few more t-shirts. And then a few more. And before I knew it, it was time to say goodbye to a thirteen year paralegal career and jump off the cliff into entrepreneurship.

Whatever you call them, these are the long, low, obstinate beings whose fierce loyalty and unbridled silliness inspire not only my designs but also great devotion among the people they own.

Dachshunds, Hot Dogs, Sausages. Whatever you call them, these are the long, low, obstinate beings whose fierce loyalty and unbridled silliness inspire not only my designs but also great devotion among the people they own. I have so much fun incorporating their personality quirks into my apparel and home decor items.

All of my apparel, totes and home decor designs are screen printed and embroidered by my friends and business partner, Tip Tops, who share my passion for detail, perfectionism and love of all things canine. We screen print using plastisol inks to give the artwork rich vibrancy. We never use DTG (direct to garment) printing because, in our opinion, DTG simply can't compare to the longevity and quality of screen print.

Sadly, some of my dachshund kids are now getting in to mischief at the Bridge but their spirit and sass lives on in my work. This silly wiener biz has allowed me to combine my love of dachshunds, my creative passion and my dedication to dachshund rescue and for that I am grateful. Rescue work can be heartbreaking but it is also the most rewarding thing I've ever done.

Heartfelt thanks to all the hardworking and compassionate rescue volunteers who make a difference every day in uniting an abandoned, abused or neglected doxie (or any dog or cat) with the perfect forever adoptive family.
