Laurel Meister's Profile

About

I received my BFA in illustration from Art Center College of Design in 1992. Since graduating I have been working freelance in every aspect of the children’s industries. My murals and paintings grace the walls of many homes and businesses including Michelle Pfeiffer, the neo-natal intensive care unit of Evergreen Hospital (WA), the pediatric intensive care unit of Children’s Hospital Orange County (CA), and Rady Children’s Hospital (San Diego, CA). My work spans the globe from Los Cabos, Mexico to Munich, Germany. I have worked as an Art Director of a bi-lingual children’s book publisher, illustrated for many parent periodicals up and down the west coast, volunteered my exhibit and graphic design skills for a developing children’s museum and have illustrated the children’s book entitled “Tutu Knows Best”.

Laurel finds her inspiration from her children and is looking forward to being author and illustrator of her next book project “Our Seven Wonders” in honor of children everywhere.

Although I love to draw and paint....I also love to create. My newest obsessions are with laser-cut wood and paper collages on wood.

I hope you enjoy my handmade items!
