About

Just like you, I'm a lot of things to a lot of different people.

And just like you I am a designer of all sorts of things including lacy shawls I knit and crochet, beaded and wire jewelry, yarn (spinning and dyeing fiber and yarn), and whatever else is wanted.

Yes, just like you!

Each of us is a designer in some respect. Most of us make at least simple adjustments to patterns and recipes that we have learned - to simply "make it our own".

Sometimes we make big adjustments to patterns and sometimes we find inspiration for something completely different just around the next corner.

That's where I've been all my 40+ years of my "Fling with Fiber" and Journey with Jewelry. I've usually created sweaters, scarves, hats, mittens/gloves and socks as well as earrings, bracelets and necklaces that were either loosely based on a pattern or just from my imagination.

(Humph... and all these years I never knew I had one!) I just used a pattern dictionary or pictures of something I liked and set about making what I wanted.

So, with fiber, I have finally started to write down what I do. It's a major step and a lot of work, but I believe (hope anyway) at least one or two items will be a contribution to the fiber world at some point.

Here's me keeping my fingers crossed !

By the way, I'm also a wife of Dave, mother of Alain and Brandon, grandmother of Alex(is), Alycea and Micheal Alain, lover of Toby (Tiger-striped kitty) and Autie (Akita dog) and owner of Red, Speck, Molly and Rhody (chickens). Some of us live all together in the country 70 miles away from everywhere in Northern California.
