Barbara M. Novobilski-Klein's Profile
I am an artist from Venice Beach and have been selling my plaques on the boardwalk for the last 20 years.
The plaques are done in a "Burn 'N' Brush" style decoupage. I use discarded plywood from construction sites( I am lucky to have several construction workers in my family and the supply of plywood is endless it seems) and once the wood is cut, I laminate a picture to the wood and stain or burn the wood.
Once this step is accomplished I seal the wood with 3 layers of sealer to protect the image and add a little hand written history of the image on the back of the plaques. I also add a strip of leather on the back for easy hanging. There will be little imperfections in the wood or the images here and there....thats all part of the process and the look.
Note: All listed images are stock photos...no plaque is ever the same and the wood…
