William Bussard's Profile

About

In architecture, furniture design, and jewelry, I am inspired by the people and places of the High Plains where I grew up and by the Rocky Mountains in which I now gaze upon daily. From the long hours on a hopelessly straight highway to the old abandoned homesteads that pepper the plains like birdshot, there is a magic in these seemingly empty spaces and with the right pair of eyes you can see this harsh beauty. Each piece evolves from the materials, the tools, and the hands into a distinctive piece that tells a unique story based on specific material origin or in most cases, wherever my mind happens to be at that moment in time.
