Wirely Home's Profile

About

Wirely Home was founded by two Melbourne based friends and mid-century lovers, Emer Diviney and Anne Davies.

Anne and Emer grew up in Heidelberg and Park Orchards, respectively and were influenced by the modernist architecture that flourished in these suburbs during the 60s and 70s. Living and socialising in homes decorated with products from some of the mid-century greats including Featherston, Eames, Marimekko, Bitossi and Parker left an indelible mark on the pair, inspiring design choices throughout both their lives.

Some of Anne's most cherished possessions are a Knoll butterfly chair and a simple wire hairpin plant stand that she inherited from her grandmother.

Emer swears by a set of hairpin legs that she found in hard rubbish that have over the years been used underneath various wooden objects including old doors, tressles and plywood sheets to make tables, desks and benches. These pieces are the inspiration for Wirely Homes, Melbourne-made product range that includes:

/ A vintage inspired metal wire plant stand and a modular plywood top that transforms the stand into a side-table. Both products are designed for indoor and outdoor use. The stand is made to fit standard-sized terracotta pots but also work well as holders for ice-buckets, terrariums and platters.

/ A set of 4 modernist inspired candlesticks made from sustainably harvested New Zealand Beech.

/A teatowel range designed by Shio Otani
