Susie Walker's Profile

About

Folk tales, folk art and fantasy have always played a crucial role in my creative pursuits. Having grown up in a Chinese American family I am particularly drawn to Asian textiles and art.

Currently I am enchanted with the malleability of wool, how it feels, how well it accepts color, how well it can be "sculpted". My carded wool batts which I dye myself or purchase from Pacific Northwest artisans come from local farms. I am also very enamored with Pendleton wool remnants. And I’m passionate about weaving, felting and combining both.
