About

I'm Jen, you might know me from my other Etsy site: http://jenNco2.etsy.com, where I sell my hemp jewelry with my family and their beaded jewelry, art, and an occasional stained glass mosaic.
Work in Progress is a shop where I plan to sell my photography prints, succulent plant cuttings, aloe oil, and possibly tarot readings or any other project my artistic abilities want to do.
I have a 14 year old son, Edan, and I live with him and my other half, Dennis, in Rochester, MN. We love to do local craft fairs and music festivals in the area when my fibromyalgia permitts, as I find it increasingly more difficult to travel with my condition. However, I will be spending a lot more time at home, allowing me more time to dedicate to my websites and "crafter's ADD", yay!

My background in art started when I was a little girl. I won recognition from Cricket magazine for kids with a winter scene I drew and sent in for a contest. I also entered my art into local county fairs and won Reserve Best of Show and second place for a watercolor pencil drawing of a prairie woman. I attended the Minnesota Center for Arts Education arts high school (now called the Perpich School for the Arts) and graduated in 1992. My drawings were published in a book written by my neighbor and friend, Jerry Gallagher, that same year. His book researched Old Morgantown Glass, a company that closed many years ago and made some of the world's most collectible glassware. My drawings were featured where other means of copying designs proved to be impossible. Working with children has always been a love of mine, so teaching children's drawing classes through Community Education with Watch Me Draw! was a dream job for me that I did for a few years. I was sad when Watch Me Draw! ended as a company, but continued to teach through Community Ed directly in Kasson, MN until my illness was diagnosed and I decided to take time to care for myself properly. Photography has always been something I loved doing but never thought I was polished enough to do as an art form until recently. I think my unique point of view and drive to make a "statement" with my art shows in my curent photography, while it also has simplicity, making it appropriate for any kind of home decor.
I'm easy to talk to, so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. :)
