A short story:
I've revived a craft from a great aunt, who made similar figures out of peanuts - lots of them, to hang on her Christmas Tree. As a kid, I was enthralled and happy to keep them, saving them in a box over the years... But, the poor 50+ yr. old Peanut People passed on. I will spare you the details, but their demise was due to the fact that their peanuts were left inside them when they were created. A sad discovery indeed, when I opened that box.
Here's the upside!
These Peanut figures are made with the shells only! I've cracked open the shell, removed the peanuts and reglued the 2 halves together. And I've sealed the surface, too, making for a more durable, long-lasting peanut.
They are free-standing and poseable!
The wire and chenille pipe cleaners, used for the arms and legs, go all the way…
