About

♥♥♥ Hello! My name is Deborah Malloy. Just to let you Know a little about me, I've been happily married for 32 years to the greatest friend a girl could ever have.

I've been crocheting every since I was about 10 or 11 years old.

I tried to get people to teach me how, but they were always so impatient! So, I actually bought a pattern book that had pictures showing the ABCs of crocheting and, through trial and error, I taught myself. (Most of my work nowadays is my own creations, although I can do most anything with a pattern. I can recognize different stitches from sight because of working so many patterns during my learning process.)

I dread thinking about the shawls, sweaters, scarves and blankets that family and friends still have lurking around somewhere, just because I made…

About

I dread thinking about the shawls, sweaters, scarves and blankets that family and friends still have lurking around somewhere, just because I made it ESPECIALLY for them! OH the inexperience of the learning process!!! (Ha! Ha!)

♥♥♥ My husband and I have no children, and no pets, Except my "WUGLYEE" bear. You may see him in photos in my shop. BUT, So sorry...he is not for sale!! He is the one and only crocheted animal I ever made...or will ever make!

Making him was waaaay more tedious and imprecise than I like to be bothered with. Not to mention that his smile, tilt of the nose, arm connections and everything all depended on me! That's way too much pressure for a creative perfectionist!! LOL

♥♥♥ Our friends, and the people we have taught, (as my husband and I are both Bible Teachers) are very much the large family that keep us balanced and make us feel complete and happy.

And believe it or not, I enjoy talking about the Bible even more than crocheting! {I try to spare people with me going on about it online though! ^_^}It's a great way to affect the world, one person at a time! Go ahead, ask me a question!! (SMILE)

♥♥♥ My crochet projects, my recent blogging, and my poetry are the outlets for my personal creativity though, and they are almost like children to me. I put all of my care and love into every single expression.

And the fact that I give so much attention to my projects that are made from recycled thread and yarn is because of a desire not to waste materials in a world that seems to want to throw everything away and move on to the next and newest thing... And there is always thread and yarn to recycle!

Unfortunately, or fortunately NOW, there is always, too, someone that thinks that what you've made is UGLY!...Although, I have felt that way myself about some of the things I've made! ^_^

That's why I named my shop "WUGLYEES". It stands for 'WARM, BUT UGLY', which is how I came to feel about my bear that I crocheted myself, and who came out soooo ugly,...but warms my heart when I look at him and remember how much work I put into him. :-] That's why I named him "Wuglyee". He's "W" for warm, "ugly" in the middle, and "ee" (or eezy) to love!

Wuglyees is also what I call my items that are made from mostly recycled thread or yarn from various other projects...In honor of my Wuglyee who was made with recycled yarn...(This is particularly true of some of my scarves.)

No thread or yarn, no matter what color or feel, is wasted. Every bit is put into a design that shows off its best features (in my opinion) and every bit is made with my love in every stitch!!!

To some people they are UGLY, but to others each is like a unique piece of art. (As my Wuglyee is!) How do you feel about this?! If you purchase one I guess I'll know! :-)

So, when you purchase a "Wuglyee", remember to wear it well and be a good 'Crochet "baby" Mama or Daddy', because you are purchasing a piece of my heart...I want you to love it as much as I do!

♥♥♥ Also, on another front, I have spent my life writing. For years now, whenever I was inspired to, I have been writing down poetry on every subject under the sun.

My perspective on marriage, childhood, things in the news, abuse, and spirituality have now been put into a book entitled "Baby Bird's Words (20 Poems of Life)" that I'm offering as part of the items in my shop. Look here to see the description of what's inside --> http://www.etsy.com/listing/33081816/baby-birds-words-20-poems-of-life

I have other books also that include other subjects, some fun and some serious. All of them are about me, my husband, my friends, and my life. I believe that each of our lives has something in it that others can be inspired by, or learn from. So, in my poems I happily tell you all I can.
