Kimberly Hart's Profile

About

My name is Kimberly Hart, and most of the time you will catch me sculpting with polymer clay. But in between the sculpting and the baking process, I also like to chainmaille. Especially at night when I am winding down for the evening. I find it very relaxing and therapeutic, and I love the challenge of new and fun weave patterns. I like to experiment, and over time I hope to be developing my own signature weaves or variations.

I've been chainmailling ever since I was a teenager, but it wasn't until the recent years that I found myself making all these pretty little bracelets. I only have so much room on my wrists, to be honest - I couldn't wear them all. Hoarding them all to myself wasn't bringing me much joy, so I want to share them with the world - and with you!

My favourite jumprings to work with are 18 gauge, and my favourite material is bright…

My favourite jumprings to work with are 18 gauge, and my favourite material is bright aluminum or anodized aluminum. They are very lightweight, clean, and have a very bright hue that makes them pleasant to look at. If I had to choose a favourite weave, it would have to be the Full Persian 6-in-1 or Inca Puno. They are both really slinky, sexy, and I get to use larger rings. Did I mention that I love chunky bracelets?

I really love the rare metals, as well - especially Niobium and Titanium. Square wire rings are also gorgeous - especially Stainless Steel. All the rings I buy are directly from the people who create them, although I would like to make my own jumprings at some point. Most of my jumprings are made right here in Canada, although I have a very select few of talented folks in the U.S. that I purchase from, as well.
