My first job was in a restaurant and from the very beginning, I was enthralled by the whole experience. A restaurant kitchen is an exciting place- full of heat, energy, noise, action and food. I loved it. To help further my career, I attended culinary school in Hyde Park, NY and began to pursue a career in the culinary arts. Then came the birth of my first child and my world changed. I loved my career, however, restaurant work is simply not conducive to the type of family life I wanted. The hours are long and require you to work nights, weekends and holidays. So, I decided to put my career on hold while I was raising my family…
