About

I am not always the best retailer, call it an artistic temperament. I've never had any desire to be a clothing designer but I like nice clothes and it's less expensive to make them then to buy them. I pass on my personal esthetic in my shop. the hats and bags I make are the same styles I came up with for myself starting as far back as twenty five years ago when I sewed my first hat by hand while waiting in line at unemployment. Never did get the unemployment but that's okay because the hat I had made sold literally off the top of my head. I eventually started a wholesale business which grew almost too quickly but when my son was born I cut back and eventually started my own online retail store instead so I could be a stay at home mom. This has paid off in the best way possible as I have a wonderful son who is an incredible young man now.

What's best about this for you is that since I am now my own retailer yo are getting the same price that you would pay in a store almost two decades ago by having cut out the middleman we both get a better deal. I do take my time on custom orders and remakes. Making a hat for a buyer is a process requiring time and communication to get it right. Some of the best of the custom orders have become inspiration for newer items this year like my friend Jo's Rembrandt Beret. For Jo I make these with a diameter of 18 inches but the style is available in a much more modest 12-14 inch diameter, Jo has graciously allowed me to use his photos for the listing . I look forward to doing the same for the style you wish you had. Feel free to drop me a convo and let's see if the hat you've always wanted but could never find may be in the making!
