About

I knew that I wanted to be an architect when I was 11 years old and visited model homes with my mom and grandma, who was looking for a new house. I picked up the house plans that the builders gave out and kept them in a file, and started to design my own plans. I majored in architecture at the University of Cincinnati in the 80s and became a licensed architect after completing a 3-year internship and a rigorous exam. I started my own architecture firm in 1997 and have specialized in designing residential projects since then. I work on custom homes occasionally, but most of my architecture projects are additions to existing homes, or reworking existing space within homes.

I don't remember exactly when I started working with polymer clay, but it was probably shortly after I graduated from college. At that time, I mainly made Christmas ornaments for friends and family members, but I made a few pieces of jewelry, too. The only clay I could find locally was white, so I painted it with acrylic paints. I remember how excited I was the first time I saw many colors of polymer clay in the craft store.

I put away the clay for many years but recently rediscovered it and have been learning all sorts of techniques. I absolutely love working with this medium - the colors and textures are so much fun. Sometimes when I can't sleep, I lay in bed thinking up new color combinations.

I am inspired by many things. I absolutely love art---my mother is an artist, as are many of my friends---and I am sure that having these people in my life has influenced me.

I hope you enjoy my work. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like to commission a custom piece. Also, follow me on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/GetExZuberant) for previews of my work and coupon codes.
