Custom Birka band B17 tabletwoven viking braid

A custom made tabletwoven band with the pattern B17, 13 mm wide, from early medieval Birka grave 735, brocaded with gold-wrapped silk.

The band is 13 mm wide. The band on the above photos is made with silk and silk thread wrapped with 24k gold tape. Although the original band was made using silver wire, gold-wrapped thread was used in the early medieval period nearby - for example in Gokstad (Norway, Xth century), to make the brocaded bands.
I can also make the brocading with silver wire.

The default brocading is silver wire, like in the original band, but Japanese gold-wrapped silk is also available. You can choose it under personalization option.
