Weave your own cute coaster of Collie dogs and sheep using this step by step PDF pattern designed for the rigid heddle loom. In this handwoven piece, a trainee Collie dog meets a cheeky sheep who grabs the flower and makes a run for it 😄.

This item is a downloadable PDF containing all the information you need to make a beautiful country themed coaster. It is not a finished product. The PDF contains detailed step by step instructions (13 pages) and accompanying photos (6).

The project has been designed for the rigid heddle loom and is suitable for an intermediate / experienced weaver.

Note for shaft loom weavers ….

I have never used a shaft loom. However, if you would like to have a go at making the coaster I can provide you with the threading and tie up and then the rest would be down to your knowledge and expertise 😄.

The coaster is woven using the boundweave / Krokbragd method and some knowledge and experience of this technique is needed for this project.

To recreate this coaster you will need:

- a rigid heddle loom with a weaving width of at least 10 inch
- a 15 dent reed. The design will also work with a 10 or 12 dent reed too. The instructions will however need a few modifications which I’m very happy to provide if you message me after purchasing the PDF;

- 4 x wooden dowels
- several shuttles
- a pickup stick
- woollen yarn in a range of colours
- strong cotton warp thread
- a tapestry beater


The finished coaster measures 11cm x 11cm.
