I started with a few hand made cards of my illustrations I had done from some historic photographs I stumbled across while looking for subjects to paint. I took them to some open studios and people really seemed to like them, so I made more. I really liked the idea of making art that people would share with each other and could be sold for a low enough price that people who would not ordinarily buy art can afford. The images are deliberately not too detailed so that, even though these images are based on real people, you can see your self or your loved ones in the figures.
I taught my self how to screen print because I love clever and/or visually striking t shirts. I also love the idea of people wearing my art and that the image or message would connect enough with them to display it on their body.
I hand-screen print every t shirt myself and hand-make every card and hand-frame every print. It is important that there is something of myself in every piece I sell.
