Hay una sensación totalmente diferente que surge al utilizar tu propio plan de estudios.

Lo que uso ahora es exactamente como quiero que sea. No hay ajustes constantes, ni dudas, ni forzar los materiales para que encajen. El trabajo refleja cómo aprenden realmente los niños, no la rapidez con la que se les presiona para que lo hagan.

Con el paso de los años, comencé a notar los mismos problemas fundamentales una y otra vez. No solo en las Islas Vírgenes, sino a nivel nacional. Se ha producido un claro cambio en el aprendizaje apropiado para el desarrollo y en el desarrollo de habilidades que a menudo están uno o dos años por encima de lo que realmente poseen los niños.

Se omiten las habilidades fundamentales. Se generan expectativas prematuramente. Y cuando los niños tienen dificultades, a menudo se centra la atención en corregirlos en lugar de analizar el enfoque.

Eso nunca me sentó bien.

Me negué a seguirles el juego porque sé más. Veo a diario las consecuencias del aprendizaje apresurado, la frustración, las lagunas de aprendizaje y cómo los niños empiezan a creer que algo anda mal con ellos cuando nunca se les dio la base adecuada.

Así que decidí hacer algo al respecto.

Comencé a crear materiales tal como enseño: intencionalmente, secuencialmente, respetando el desarrollo infantil. Lo que empezó como herramientas para mis propios alumnos se convirtió poco a poco en una serie curricular completa basada en la práctica real, no en modas.

Este trabajo es personal.
Este trabajo tiene un propósito.
Y se basa en lo que los niños realmente necesitan para crecer con confianza.

There is a totally different feeling that comes with using your own curriculum.

What I use now is exactly how I want it to be. There are no constant adjustments, no second-guessing, and no forcing materials to fit. The work reflects how children actually learn, not how quickly they are pushed to perform.

Over the years, I began noticing the same fundamental problems again and again. Not only in the Virgin Islands, but nationally. There has been a clear shift away from developmentally appropriate learning and toward skills that are often one to two years above where children truly are.

Foundational skills are skipped. Expectations are raised prematurely. And when children struggle, the focus is often placed on fixing the child instead of examining the approach.

That never sat right with me.

I refused to play along because I know better. I see the effects of rushed learning daily, frustration, learning gaps, and children beginning to believe something is wrong with them when they were never given the right foundation.

So I decided to do something about it.

I began creating materials the way I actually teach. Intentionally. Sequentially. With respect for child development. What started as tools for my own students slowly grew into a full curriculum series rooted in real practice, not trends.

This work is personal.
This work is purposeful.
And it is grounded in what children truly need to grow with confidence.
