In all seriousness, when I'm not designing with colors and living textures in my garden, I play with colorful stones and a potpourri of artisan components in my handcrafted jewelry. It does take some finagling to get just the right combinations, but I really don't mind when winter arrives now because the tools and techniques are so much more varied in jewelry-making.
My jewelry often features unusual gems and stones, and I work with sterling and fine silver, brass, and most often copper. All the metalwork in my jewelry is my own, from texturing to patinas and hand polishing.
I favor simplicity, but also variety, and I'm particularly pleased to incorporate other artisans' components into my jewelry--especially irresistible lampwork glass beads and colorful ceramic pieces. In fact, my finished pieces are often inspired by those whose work makes its way into my own.
I like to say my handmade jewelry is the work of many hands, including nature's.
