Così un giorno sono in un fantastico negozio di tessuti a Berkeley, in California, il tipo che ti fa battere il cuore più velocemente e la tua testa ha un po 'di vertigini con le idee, e ovviamente voglio comprare una tonnellata di tessuto. Decido di fare sacchetti con cerniera per ciascuna delle mie figlie in modo da avere una buona ragione per acquistare diverse stampe. Perché sono brillante in quel modo.
Dopo aver fatto il primo ho avuto un serio momento ah-ha. Le buste con cerniera sono incredibili! Puoi conservare il trucco! Matite! Cavi e caricabatterie! Pannolini e salviette! Occhiali! Ferri! Forniture di primo soccorso! Tamponi e assorbenti! Ogni. Un po'. Cosa.
Tutto ciò che mi aiuta a rimanere organizzato ed è carino è mio amico e improvvisamente le buste con cerniera erano le mie migliori amiche! Volevo cucire tutti i sacchetti del mondo!

How to tell you about my crush on zipper pouches? Well, I love making things -DIY is my gin and juice and I'm always working on a furniture makeover, a painting, or even a friend's wedding. And as a mom of four my life has a whole lot of moving parts.
So one day I am in a fantastic fabric store in Berkeley, CA , the kind that makes your heart beat faster and your head get a little dizzy with ideas, and of course I want to buy a ton of fabric. I decide to make zipper pouches for each of my daughters so that I have a good reason to buy several different prints. Because I am brilliant that way.
After making the first one I had a serious ah-ha moment. Zipper pouches are amazing! You can store make-up! Pencils! Cords and chargers! Diapers and wipes! Glasses! Knitting needles! First aid supplies! Tampons and pads! Every. Little. Thing.
Anything that helps me stay organized and is pretty is my friend and suddenly zipper pouches were my best friend! I wanted to sew all the pouches in the world!
And thus BarnacleDesigns was born. Each pouch is handmade by me with fabric that I love, and a zipper that complements it. Textile selection is one of the best parts of this gig and I always choose fabrics that appeal in a specific way-whether it's beautifully floral, subtly sophisticated, boldly geometric, or just tickles my funny bone.
