Pinto, dibujo, esculpo y hago cosas inusuales porque es para lo que nací. Creo que las personas como nosotros, que hacemos que el mundo sea más hermoso en nuestras formas pequeñas y únicas, son tan importantes como aquellos que salen y cambian el mundo de maneras enormes y radicales.

He sido artista toda mi vida. Nunca hubo otra opción de carrera para mí. He pasado alegremente los últimos veinte años encontrando formas de simplemente ser un artista y evitar obtener un trabajo "real". No es fácil. ¡Especialmente cuando mi destino resultó ser la maternidad, que es el trabajo más "real" que puedes tener! Y reduce el tiempo de pintura. Pero mis hijos son una enorme inspiración para mí, así que está bien.

Una palabra sobre Geekery: Mi mayor proyecto hasta la fecha ha sido pintar cada elemento de la tabla periódica como una criatura de fantasía... Un "Elemental", si se quiere. Esto eventualmente se convertirá en una baraja de cartas, como un extraño cruce entre cartas del tarot y cartas de memoria, para ser utilizado para la adivinación o como una ayuda de aprendizaje. ¡Porque la ciencia!

Abrí mi tienda de Etsy en enero de 2014. Desde entonces nos hemos mudado, hemos visto a los niños crecer casi hasta arriba, he luchado contra el cáncer y el mundo ha pasado por ... digamos, mucho. I paint, draw, sculpt and craft unusual things because it's what I was born to do. I think that people like us, who make the world more beautiful in our small, unique ways, are just as important as those who go out and change the world in huge, sweeping ways.

I've been an artist all my life. There never was any other career choice for me. I've cheerfully spent the last twenty years finding ways to simply be an artist and avoid getting a "real" job. It's not easy. Especially when my destiny turned out to be motherhood, which is the most "real" job you can have! And it does cut into painting time. But my children are an enormous inspiration to me, so that's all right.

A word about Geekery: My biggest project to date has been to paint every element in the periodic table as a fantasy creature...An "Elemental," if you will. This will eventually become a deck of cards, like a strange cross between tarot cards and flashcards, to be used for divination or as a learning aid. Because science!
And because faerie.

I opened my Etsy store in January 2014. Since then we've moved, seen the kids grow nearly up, I've fought cancer and the world has been through...let's just say, a lot.
