Hello and welcome to Cwtchness.
Cwtchness creates contemporary textile wall objects at the intersection of applied art, composition, and discreet function. Each piece is conceived as a presence within space, designed to structure a wall, hold precious objects, or engage in quiet dialogue with interior architecture.
All works are created from reclaimed textiles sourced from former garments and domestic uses: fragments of dresses, blouses, tablecloths, or curtains. These materials, already shaped by time and use, are selected for their texture, colour, and graphic potential, then reassembled into new compositions. Traces of their previous lives are not erased, but integrated into the work.
Velvet, printed fabrics, and natural textiles are shaped by hand through a process focused on surface, rhythm, and balance. Each piece is made as a one-of-a-kind object or as part of a very limited series, never reproduced identically.
Some works take the form of textile wall-mounted jewelry displays, others of ready-to-hang decorative compositions. All share the same intention: to offer durable, thoughtful objects that stand apart from interchangeable décor.
Cwtchness addresses those who view objects as fragments of narrative, and textile as a language. Each creation is carefully crafted and sent ready to join an interior, like a chosen piece rather than an accessory.
