Più di dodici anni fa, mia moglie notò che le facevano male mani e braccia dopo aver lavorato all'uncinetto per un certo periodo di tempo. Dopo alcune ricerche e visite mediche, ci rendemmo conto che l'intervento chirurgico non rientrava nel nostro futuro finanziario. Così, dopo un po' di brainstorming e una manciata di prototipi, nacquero i nostri manici! Iniziai con un manico per il suo uncinetto preferito e da lì andai avanti. Iniziai a realizzare altri manici per altri suoi uncinetti, per poi passare ad altri piccoli oggetti di cui aveva bisogno per i suoi vari lavori artigianali. Scucitore, strumenti per imbottire, portapenne e portapenne, manici per pennelli, uncinetti, dipinti con gemme e qualsiasi altra cosa volesse provare.

Ci siamo resi conto che non poteva essere l'unica ad avere problemi alle mani per i quali la chirurgia non era un'opzione praticabile. Ha iniziato a mettere in vendita i miei manici online. Così è nata Dunlap Custom Crafts. Realizzati in vari tipi di legno e rifiniti in una varietà di stili, con diverse opzioni di utensili per i nostri manici, creiamo oggetti per aiutare gli altri a creare oggetti. Siamo una piccola azienda di sole due persone, che realizza a mano tutto ciò che vende. Tutti i nostri stili di manici vengono provati e testati prima di essere messi in vendita, per garantire che siano adatti e piacevoli al tatto. I nostri manici sono realizzati DA artigiani, PER artigiani.

Over a dozen years ago now, my wife noticed that her hands and arms would hurt after crocheting for any amount of time. After some research, and some doctor visits, we realized that surgery was not in our near financial future. So, after some brainstorming, and a handful of prototypes, our handles were born! I started with one handle for her favorite hook size, and went from there. I started making more handles for more of her hooks, and then moved on to other small items that she needed for her various crafts. Seam rippers, stuffing tools, stylus and pencil holders, paint brush handles, latch hook, gem paintings, and anything else she wanted to try.

We realized that she can’t be the only one with hand problems where surgery is not a viable option. She started listing my handles online for sale. Thus, Dunlap Custom Crafts was started. Made from various types of wood, and finished in a variety of styles, with multiple options for tools in our handles, we make things to help others make things. We are a small, 2 person, operation, hand making everything that we sell. All of our handle styles are tried and tested before we offer them for sale, to make sure that they fit, and feel good in your hands. Our handles are made BY crafters, FOR crafters.
