Spreadsheets a small business will actually open. Eight tabs each, never more.
I make spreadsheets for people who run a small business and do not want an accounting program.
The idea came from reading reviews. The most common complaint about spreadsheet templates is not a missing feature - it is that people download the file, open it, see twenty-six tabs, and never come back. So every file here has eight tabs and no more, and the first tab explains the other seven in about a minute. No video to watch, no separate guide to open.
That is also why there are five separate files instead of one big one. Chasing money, counting it, pricing it, paying bills and counting stock are five different jobs. Putting them in one workbook makes every one of them harder to begin. None of these files link to another, so none of them can break another. Use one, or use all five. There is also a sixth, for the home behind the business: a household budget with a real debt payoff plan.
A few things I do not cut corners on. Every file is opened in real Excel before release, every formula is recalculated, and every number is checked against a worked example - not eyeballed. Amounts are typed as positive numbers and the arithmetic is handled behind the scenes. Selling fees are counted before a recommended price is shown, because if you sell for 100 you do not receive 100.
