Olá, meu nome é Caren. Moro, passeio com meu cachorro e fotografo flores na capital do nosso país, Washington, D.C. Às vezes, temos uma má reputação aqui no pântano, mas a verdade é que, à sombra do Capitólio, onde moro e criei minha família, existe um bairro incrível, repleto de jardineiros extraordinários. Foi o trabalho deles que me inspirou a embarcar nessa jornada durante a pandemia, quando ansiávamos por beleza como se fosse uma droga e nos sentíamos tão sozinhos que adotamos um cachorro. Desde então, tanto o cachorro quanto as flores servem como um lembrete constante, em um lugar onde é fácil ser cínico, de que existe beleza e bondade pura no mundo. Desde então, viajei e levei minha obsessão por observar, realmente observar, o que a natureza criou para nós, para outras partes do país e do mundo. Espero que você goste do que descobri.

Hi, I’m Caren. I live, walk my dog, and take photos of flowers, in our nation’s capital, Washington, DC. We get a bad rap here in the swamp sometimes, but the truth is in the shadow of the nation’s actual Capitol, where I live and raised a family, is a great neighborhood full off remarkable gardeners. It’s their work that started me on this journey, during the pandemic, when we craved beauty like a drug and were so lonely we got a dog. Since then, both the dog, and the flowers, serve as a constant reminder in a place where it is easy to be cynical that there is beauty, and pure goodness, in the world. Since then I’ve traveled and brought my obsession with looking, really looking, at what nature made for us, to other parts of the country and the world. I hope you enjoy what I’ve found.
