Welcome to my little corner of the world where I create crochet with purpose and personality. I have a real passion for upcycling and love working with recycled yarns to craft pieces that are both practical and full of charm. Each item is carefully handmade with close attention to detail, and finished with a cruelty-free, eco-leather tag – because I believe the small touches matter.

Turning tangled yarn into something beautiful feels like magic. It brings me joy every time I crochet.

Hi, I’m Kate – the hands and heart behind KG Handmade, based in beautiful Bristol, UK.

My journey began with a ball of recycled yarn, a crochet hook, and my Labrador, Ludo, by my side. What started as a creative escape soon became a passion for crafting pieces that are not only practical and stylish but kind to the planet too.

With a love for slow, mindful making, I turn repurposed and sustainable yarns into unique crochet accessories – from cosy wraps to handy bumbags. In fact, my crochet bumbags have become my signature product – loved by many not just for dog walks, but for everyday use and especially for travel. The lovely people who use them encouraged me to open this Etsy shop, and I’m so glad I did!

Creating with intention means every item in my shop is made to be loved, worn, and treasured – whether you’re treating yourself or gifting someone special.
