De niño, el estudio de mis padres era mi patio de juegos. Mi madre se sentaba junto a la ventana, tejiendo con su aguja de plata la seda para bordar flores y pájaros de aspecto realista; mientras tanto, mi padre se inclinaba sobre su banco de trabajo, deslizando su cuchillo de tallar sobre el cuero para esculpir intrincados diseños. La luz del sol se filtraba entre las hojas moteadas, danzando sobre sus perfiles concentrados; esas expresiones de profunda concentración, combinadas con los ágiles movimientos de sus manos, sembraron en mi corazón la semilla de una pasión de por vida por el trabajo artesanal personalizado.
Ahora que soy adulta, he retomado la aguja y el cuchillo de tallar que heredé de mis padres y he abierto esta pequeña tienda en Etsy. Cada pieza que creo representa un diálogo entre yo y el paso del tiempo; a través del bordado, narro las historias de amor de mis clientes, y a través del tallado en cuero, doy forma a sus sueños y recuerdos.
Una clienta me encargó un neceser de cuero personalizado para conmemorar el décimo aniversario de haber conocido a su amada. Cuando le envié la pieza terminada y recibí sus comentarios —llenos de alegría y profunda emoción— comprendí que lo que mis padres me habían transmitido era mucho más que un simple oficio. Era una misión: usar mis propias manos para transmitir calidez y belleza al mundo. Por eso, seguiré adelante con este espíritu artesanal, continuando este camino durante muchos años.
As a child, my parents' studio was my playground. My mother would sit by the window, her silver needle weaving through silk to embroider lifelike flowers and birds; meanwhile, my father would lean over his workbench, his carving knife gliding across leather to sculpt intricate patterns. Sunlight filtered through the dappled leaves, dancing across their focused profiles; those expressions of deep concentration—combined with the nimble movements of their hands—planted the seeds of a lifelong passion for handcrafted custom work deep within my heart.
Now grown, I have taken up the needle and carving knife passed down by my parents and opened this little shop on Etsy. Each piece I create represents a dialogue between myself and the passage of time; through embroidery, I chronicle my clients' love stories, and through leather carving, I give form to their dreams and memories.
One client commissioned a custom leather toiletry bag to commemorate the tenth anniversary of meeting their beloved. When I shipped the finished piece and received the client's feedback—filled with sheer delight and deep emotion—I realized that what my parents had passed on to me was far more than just a craft. It was a mission: to use my own two hands to convey warmth and beauty to the world. And so, I will carry this spirit of craftsmanship forward, continuing this journey for years to come.
