My Story
Ciao sono Mary, la designer, la creatrice, creatrice, proprietaria di Mary's Collection. Vivo nel bellissimo West Yorkshire del Regno Unito.
Nato in una famiglia di artisti, la mia creatività è stata ispirata molto presto. La mia passione per la creatività risale a un'età molto precoce.
Ho bei ricordi accoglienti di guardare mia madre seduta accanto al fuoco a maglia lucida di lana dai colori vivaci per amici e familiari. Quando mia madre non lavorava a maglia, faceva i nostri vestiti o lavorava all'uncinetto bellissimi pizzi. Aveva una macchina a manovella Singer che ho trovato incredibile! Ho realizzato il mio primo abito di bambole Cindy cucito a mano all'età di sei anni, poi sono passato all'uso del Singer poco dopo. All'età di nove anni facevo fermagli per capelli e grembiuli e li vendevo ai compagni di scuola. Poco dopo stavo facendo vestiti per la famiglia e gli amici.
Raccogliendo abbastanza soldi per comprarmi la mia prima macchina da cucire elettrica NEW HOME, sono diventato il popolare sarto locale.
Molti anni dopo con bagagli di esperienza e abilità da autodidatta ho deciso di iniziare la mia collezione di capi e accessori. Disegni con un tocco personale usando i miei modelli Ho scoperto Harris Tweed. Nell'ottobre 2013 ho acquistato per la 1a volta Harris Tweed intrecciato a mano da un tessitore molto abile (Shawbost Weavers) sull'Isola di Lewis, Harris Tweed verde erba brillante che ho trasformato in un cappotto gonna pieno molto sorprendente per me stesso; un vero capogiro che ha ricevuto molti complimenti. Poco dopo ho acquistato più Harris Tweed e follemente ho dato vita a ogni pezzo di stoffa trasformandolo in bellissime borse e accessori.
Ora sono un artista di stoffa Harris Tweed registrato. Abbandono il mio lavoro quotidiano come interprete / sviluppatore immobiliare / interior designer / falegname / costruttore / idraulico! Tu lo chiami io l'ho fatto!
Lavoro a tempo pieno gestendo la mia nuova attività "Marys Collection" dal mio studio di casa. Ho 2 bambini piccoli, uno di ciascuno.
Etsy ha realizzato i miei sogni aprendo un nuovo mondo di possibilità, permettendomi di offrire la mia collezione unica ai clienti di tutto il mondo.
Nel mio tempo libero amo cucinare, fare giardinaggio e rinnovare la mia casa! Recentemente ho dato alla mia lounge un restyling con una nuova combinazione di colori. Ho deciso di realizzare una fodera aderente per la mia suite angolare in pelle rossa che si è rivelata molto ben abbinata a cuscini Harris Tweed ricamati e una leccata di vernice fresca sulle pareti. Non era male per un lavoro del fine settimana prima di Pasqua!

Hi I’m Mary, the designer, maker, creator, owner at Mary’s Collection. I’m based in beautiful West Yorkshire UK.
Born into a family of artists, my creativity was inspired very early on. My passion for creativity goes back to a very early age.
I have lovely cosy memories of watching my mother sat by the fire knitting bright vivid coloured patterned woollens for friends and family. When my mum wasn’t knitting she was making our clothes or crocheting beautiful lace. She had a Singer hand crank machine which I found amazing! I made my first ever Cindy dolls outfit hand stitched at the age of six, then progressed to using the Singer soon after. At the age of nine I was making bow hair clips and aprons and selling them to schoolmates. Soon afterwards I was making clothes for family and friends.
Raising enough money to buy myself my first ever NEW HOME electric sewing machine, I became the popular local dress maker.
Many years later with bags of experience and self-taught skills I decided to start my own collection of garments and accessories. Designs with a personal touch using my own patterns I discovered Harris Tweed. In October 2013 I purchased for the 1st time hand woven Harris Tweed from a very skilled weaver (Shawbost Weavers) on the Isle of Lewis, bright grass green Harris Tweed which I made into a very stunning full skirt coat for myself; a true head turner which received many compliments. Soon after I purchased more Harris Tweed and crazily brought life to every piece of cloth turning it into beautiful bags and accessories.
I am now a registered Harris Tweed cloth artist. Ditching my day job as an interpreter/property developer/interior designer/joiner/builder/plumber! You name it I’ve done it!
I work full time running my new business ‘Marys Collection’ from my very own home studio. I have 2 young children, one of each.
Etsy has made my dreams come true opening up a whole new world of possibilities, allowing me to offer my unique collection to customers worldwide.
In my spare time I love cooking, gardening and revamping my home! I recently gave my lounge a makeover with a fresh colour scheme. I decided to make a fitted cover for my red leather corner suite which turned out very well teamed up with embroidered Harris Tweed cushions and a lick of fresh paint on the walls. Wasn’t bad for a weekend job before Easter!
