El diseño siempre ha sido mi vida, de una forma u otra.......
Design has always been my life, one way or another.......
El diseño es mi formación y estudié arte y diseño, diseño gráfico y diseño multimedia en la escuela de arte, sin embargo, solo lo puse en uso muchos años después, después de que nació mi 1er hijo.
Después de tener a mi 2º hijo, me resultó difícil volver a mi trabajo por cuenta ajena, debido al cuidado de los niños, así que decidí trabajar por cuenta propia y ver a dónde me llevan mis habilidades de diseño.
Comencé haciendo accesorios para el cabello y bolsos bordados, diseñando algunos de los trabajos de bordado que usé. Luego, mi hija mayor comenzó a patinar sobre ruedas artísticamente y quería faldas como las otras chicas, así que le hice faldas y fundas de skate, pero en colores brillantes y audaces. Otros pronto querían faldas y fundas de skate y yo establecí un negocio de skatewear, que actualmente está en pausa, mientras encuentro espacio para montar mis máquinas de coser nuevamente.
¿Cómo empecé a crear impresiones? Siempre he estado creando diseños, diseñé y creé toda la papelería de boda, planos de mesa y orden de servicios para mi propia boda. También he creado toppers para pasteles y papelería de boda para la familia.
Lo que me encanta del diseño es que siempre está evolucionando, ¡tengo muchas ideas y, a veces, demasiadas para ejecutar!
Design is my background and I studied art and design, graphic design and multimedia design at art college, however, I only really put it into use many years later, after my 1st child was born.
After having my 2nd child, I found it difficult to return to my employed work, due to childcare, so I decided to go self-employed and see where my design skills take me.
I started off making hair accessories and embroidered tote bags, designing some of the embroidery work I used. Then my eldest daughter started artistic roller skating and she wanted skirts like the other girls, so I made her skirts and skate covers, but in bright bold colours. Others soon wanted skirts and skate covers and I set up a business making skatewear, which is currently paused, while I find space to set up my sewing machines again.
How did I get into creating prints? I have always been creating designs, I designed and created all the wedding stationery, table plans, and order of services for my own wedding. I've created cake toppers and wedding stationery for family too.
The thing I love about design is it's always evolving, I have lots of ideas and sometimes too many to execute!
