Je vis et respire ces couleurs car elles constituent la séquence de couleurs de base des motifs amérindiens. Mais il y a d’autres couleurs à explorer, et j’essaie de les faire aussi.
J'ai pensé à fabriquer ce type de bijoux plusieurs années avant d'en fabriquer un. J'ai des ancêtres amérindiens et j'ai toujours aimé tout ce qui ressemblait à des Amérindiens. Un jour, j'étais dans le magasin W, au rayon artisanat, et du coin de l'œil, j'ai repéré un métier à tisser de perles. Je l'ai regardé et je l'ai remis. En m'éloignant, je me suis dit : « Tu sais, si tu n'achètes pas ce métier à tisser maintenant, tu voudras revenir le chercher plus tard. Donc, j’ai bien compris. Quelques semaines plus tard, j’ai investi dans un métier à tisser plus grand et de meilleure qualité et j’ai finalement démarré avec Etsy. Depuis, j’ai beaucoup appris auprès d’autres personnes qui créent des modèles amérindiens et je suis toujours en train de parcourir Internet pour trouver l’inspiration. I live and breathe these colors as they are the basic color sequence for Native American patterns. But there are other colors to explore, and I try to do them too.
I thought about making this type of jewelry many years before I actually made one. I have Native American ancestors and I always loved anything that looked Native American. One day I was in the W store in the craft section and out of the corner of my eye I spotted a bead loom. I looked at it and put it back. As I walked away, I said to myself, "You know if you don't buy that loom now, you will want to come back and get it later." So, I got it right then. A few weeks later I invested in a bigger, better loom and eventually started up with Etsy. Since then, I have learned a lot from other people who make Native American patterns, and I am always scouring the internet for inspiration.
