    Owner, Designer

Hi! My name is Susan and I am the owner and designer of PoppysStitchPatterns! I love to cross stitch (duh), read, run (kind of), travel, and so much more! I have a little gray cat named Berlioz, and she personally oversees all of my designs!

Frequently asked questions

How do I price my items?

As a way to keep all of my pricing consistent, I price my items based on the number of stitches, divided by 1000. For example, my bookmarks are 36 stitches wide by 108 stitches tall. 3,888 stitches in total! (hellooo details!) Which means all of my bookmarks will be priced at $3.88 USD!

Can I order a physical finished cross stitch instead of the digital pattern download?

At the moment, no! I'm currently spending all of my free time designing and testing cross stitch patterns for digital download only, and do not have the capacity to take on selling physical, finished cross stitches. If this changes in the future, I will update this question!

Do I take recommendations?

Absolutely! Have a favorite book you want to stitch into a bookmark, or a travel location you'd like in a postage stamp? Let me know! I'm always open to new ideas that fit within the categories I already have listed on my etsy shop (i.e bookmarks or travel stamps). Don't be afraid to shoot me a message with requests or ideas!

How do I create my designs?

I use a reference image, whether it be a book cover, a picture I took on vacation, or just random item I'm inspired by, and I color match it using my vast collection of DMC threads. Then I use Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, and a custom symbol/number key I created myself, to create the pixelated design and final PDF you will receive upon purchase. Then, to double check my design and create a more 'thread like' final image, I redraw the design in FlossCross, which I then also use to generate a pdf that is fully compatible with MarkUpR-XP. This PDF should also be compatible with Pattern Keeper, but I do not have the tools to test that out myself and list it as a guarantee.
