My name is Jo. I grew up in Yunnan, China — where ramie has been woven by hand for over a thousand years — and for 22 years my family has made it our life's work to bring this extraordinary fiber to the world.
Most people outside Asia have never heard of ramie. That is about to change for you. Ramie is a natural plant fiber that is stronger than cotton, more breathable than linen, naturally antibacterial, and grown without pesticides. It has a subtle silk-like luster that linen simply does not have. And unlike most fabrics, it gets softer and more beautiful the more you wear and wash it. Every garment in our studio starts as raw ramie fiber and ends as a finished piece after 7 days of careful handwork — cutting, stitching, pressing, and inspecting by hand. We do not rush. We do not mass-produce. Each shirt, pant, jacket, and short is made one at a time, with the same attention my family has given this craft for two decades.
